FAQ
What is Henna?
Henna is a plant that grows in arid climates. The art of henna uses the powdered leaf of that plant, mixed with other natural ingredients to form a paste. That paste is used to draw designs on the skin that last up to 2 weeks.
How do I take care of my henna?
Once your henna is applied it will take up to 30 minutes to dry. Once it is dry you need to leave the paste on your skin for as long as you can (at least 2 hours). The dried henna paste will start to flake off on its own. Do not wash off your henna paste! Flake it off or brush it off with your hand. Your stain will be bright orange at first and darken up over a few days to a deep brownish red color. Keep your new design moisturized with a natural product like coconut oil, Shea butter or cocoa butter.
Why is it important to use natural henna?
I always use fresh, natural henna. Henna that can be bought premixed online or at Indian or Middle Eastern grocery stores are full of dyes and dangerous chemicals.
How far do you travel?
I am happy to travel all over New England, parts of New York and New Jersey.
